SHIMSHAL VALLEY
Shimshal is situated in Hunza valley, 205 km North East of Gilgit and about 52 km from Karakoram Highway (KKH). Shimshal River flows in to the west of Shimshal village. Shimshal Village is situated on 75* 19' 073 East Longitude and 36* 26' 994 North latitude at an altitude of 10,142 ft (Source-GPS) above sea level. In the South of Shimshal is Passu, Hussaini and Gulmit (the headquarters of Gojal magistracy - tehsil).in the northof Shimshal isfamous Verzhrav and Yaz Ghail glacier. Malungudi glacier is located to the south east with unclimbed Destegis peak, 7,785 meter.
